This is a classic seafood “shack” in the best possible way. Expect fresh seafood, generous portions, and friendly service in a spotless, no frills setting. The Buffalo chicken sandwich was a hit too! We really enjoyed the clam bellies and the calamari. My husband loved the New England baked haddock with Ritz crumbs and I was so happy there was a healthy option of simply baked haddock where I could substitute extra cole slaw ( very tasty) for rice pilaf. Overall, a really cool spot!

An Outstanding Lobster Roll from The Lobster Claw! As a Californian on the hunt for the East Coast's best hot, buttered lobster roll, I tried some of the most famous spots. I ate rolls from The Clam Shack in Kennebunk, Maine, and The Old Ferry Landing in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, but nothing compared to the one I had at The Lobster Claw in North Reading, Massachusetts. The Lobster Claw's hot, buttered lobster roll was hands down the best I tasted. The meat was fresh and plentiful, perfectly cooked, and generously coated in warm, melted butter on the side. It was a simple preparation that highlighted the natural sweetness of the lobster without any unnecessary fillers. If you are on the hunt for a truly top-rated lobster roll, you must go to The Lobster Claw.

Tried The Lobster Claw for the first time yesterday. Who would have thought the best fried clams I’ve had in years would be found in North Reading? Everything was perfect. I had whole bellies with scallops and I had to try their chicken tenders. Everything was a 10! Will definitely be back. Next time I going for the lobster rolls! Can’t wait!

If you’re in the area, Lobster Claw is an absolute must-visit! The lobster rolls were the best and freshest I’ve ever had—packed with flavor and perfectly prepared. The quality of the food was outstanding, and the service was friendly and welcoming from the moment we arrived. You can tell they take pride in what they do. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, don’t miss this place. We will definitely be back for another lobster roll!

I am very pleased with the food and service. It's really fresh and tasty. First I got a clam chowder. It was really good. The taste was on point. Later, I got a tray with shrimps and onion rings. The shrimps were really big and the onion rings were awesome. What I liked most was that were not greasy like other restaurants. It were really yummy. My family was delighted with our choices. I highly recommend this restaurant. I'll definitely come back.

If you want a casual dinner with extremely fresh fish … this is the place. The fish is so fresh there’s literally no smell of fish in the entire place. I really like the baked haddock (for some reason it’s only on the menu onsite not the paper one). My husband gets the Haddock pieces plate and clam chowder. It’s plenty of food for me. But I think by today’s standards people might think the fish portions are on the smaller side. I don’t eat clams, popcorn shrimp etc but when I see people get them the plates look big. The lobster rolls also look very good (again I don’t like lobster so can’t comment on the taste).

The lobster roll, served hot with butter, hit the spot. A little more lobster would make it perfect. The clam chowder was solid. Service was friendly, and the cashier even threw in two pieces of haddock for me to try.

Stopping at the Lobster Claw for a lobster roll is a must every time I’m up in the area visiting the in-laws. It’s a dedicated lunch every single trip - it’s that good. We go with the Deluxe (medium) cold roll, but all the fried seafood options here absolutely rock. The owner said they recently added a fish taco to the menu, which looked great - but when a lobster roll is this good it’s hard for a non-local to ever opt for anything else. Highly recommend.
